I received my copy of your wonderful book today. Even better than I imagined. I think you have made it easy for experienced collectors as well as beginners with your sensible explanations on how to start an identification process.
For more experienced, the historical data makes it easy to immediately narrow your focus to a period.
You clearly put a lot of thought into the layout and the information presentation.
Thank you for sharing your thousands of hours of study with all of us. I predict this book is going to fly off the Amazon book list.

Like most collectors I study details when I try to date Chinese porcelain. But it has been very difficult task and despite days and nights work and I'm most often not sure.
Your book opened the eyes to a whole new world of details and learn methodically what to watch! Fantastic book! It was like a new start in collecting and I can now often find the answer already BEFORE I buy a piece.
Many thanks Tommy.

I received your book safely and I have to say....'it's brilliant!'. Thank you so much for taking the time and putting in the monumental effort required to produce this excellent tool. This book makes it so much more easy to pull together the many and diverse factors that finally link together to authenticate and date an export piece which, all in all, makes it an 'essential' for anyone with a passion for Chinese ceramic art.
I wish you every success with your book and I sincerely hope that, in time, it will become a 'Standard' for all serious collectors of Chinese Export Porcelain.
Well done and all the very best,

Just wanted to tell you how much I am enjoying the book. Scholarship is essentially a matter of looking more closely at things and, with this book, you have done a real service to those of us who are interested in "things Chinese". Your ability to organize the seemingly random is admirable. Thanks again.

Just want to tell how much I like your book. I always use it as soon there are faces on a piece.
I'm glad I bought two of them. One for use and one signed book for the shelf as this edition will be very thought after in the future.

Your book arrived safely today. I've already dipped into it, and I'm delighted to note the rigour of its methodology.
I've been professionally interested in taxonomy and various related issues of classification for many years in the context of my research as a palaeographer of medieval handwriting. Your classifications already strike me as carefully considered, and you show an astute awareness of possible problems that the data might throw up, of how to take them into consideration, and of how to negotiate them if that happens.
I will benefit immensely from your work.
All good wishes,
